Utah Bicycle Accident HandbookSchool’s out!  The summer months are here, and so is bicycle season.  Now that the preponderance of ice, snow, and face-lifting wind have been replaced by a summer breeze, it’s the perfect opportunity to strap on a helmet and set out for a Saturday in the park.  However, at a time when so many are traveling by larger vehicles—campers cars, motorcycles, or, heaven forbid, unicycles—for family reunions, camping trips, or other adventures, the risks for bicyclists are at their highest point of the year.  It’s no secret that low riders, little deuce coupes, and little red Corvettes alike are a hazard to bicyclists; this hazard is compounded as traffic increases.  Those taking advantage of the temperate weather to go riding should exercise particular caution throughout the season.

Do not, however, let your fear of Mustang Sally keep you from enjoying the weather.  Thanks to the diligence of local advocacy groups, Utah has risen to No. 13 on the League of American Bicyclists list of most bike-friendly states.  Additionally, bicycle accident attorneys with a proven track record of success are there when you require reparations for an injury you might sustain in the event of an accident.
